ET MaXx ZLD
MAXIMUM CONCENTRATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER STREAMS WITH ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE
The ET MaXx ZLD extends MKR evaporation technology with an additional stage for further concentration.
After evaporation, the concentrate is further processed, minimizing the remaining water content and increasing the concentration of valuable substances. The distillate can be returned to the production process, while the residual volume is significantly reduced.
The result is a nearly closed water cycle in line with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD).
Module
Modules make wastewater treatment flexible: filtration, ultrafiltration, evaporation as well as pre- and post-treatment can be combined as required and expanded when needed. This keeps the system adaptable, even when wastewater streams and requirements change.
Accessories

When Is Filtration Sufficient, and When Is Evaporation Needed?
Not every industrial wastewater stream requires an evaporator system right away. If process media need to be reused and the main objective is to remove interfering substances, filtration or ultrafiltration is often sufficient.
Typical tasks of filtration include:
- removing particles, chips and sludge
- separating oils, greases and emulsions
- stabilizing washing and degreasing baths
- reducing bath changes
- keeping process media usable for longer
Evaporation becomes relevant when wastewater volumes need to be significantly reduced, complex industrial media must be treated or process water should be recovered. In this process, water is thermally separated from the wastewater. The result is a distillate, which can be reused or post-treated depending on its quality, and a concentrate, in which the retained substances are collected.
In many applications, the best solution is a combination of both technologies: filtration stabilizes the medium, while evaporation technology further reduces liquid residual streams. MKR evaluates the medium, contamination load, flow rate and required target quality to develop the right process solution — from filtration and ultrafiltration to evaporation and Zero Liquid Discharge concepts.
